The Department of Information Science and Engineering organized a Club event titled ‘Achiever’, on 18th November 2022, at Smt. Rajalakshmi Jayaraman Seminar Hall. The event started at 9:30 am and concluded at 4:00 pm. 256 students from all the semesters of the Dept. of ISE and CSE (Data Science) participated in this event.

Chief Guest Sreekanth G.C, Senior Systems Analyst for TESCO, inaugurated the event, and transferred his Industry knowledge about internet Phishing and AWS to the students.

Phishing is a type of social engineering where an attacker sends a fraudulent (spoofed, fake, or otherwise deceptive) message that is designed to trick a person into revealing sensitive information to the attacker[1], or deploy malicious software on the victim’s infrastructure like ransomware. Phishing attacks have become increasingly sophisticated and often transparently mirror the site being targeted, allowing the attacker to observe everything while the victim is navigating the site.

Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) is a subsidiary of Amazon that provides on-demand cloud computing platforms and APIs to individuals, companies, and governments, on a metered pay-as-you-go basis. These cloud computing web services provide distributed computing processing capacity and software tools via AWS server farms.

Certain parts of a code were given in chits, while the rest of the code was missing. First of all, the students had to find clues via chit (treasure hunt) and using clues students have to code in computer.

Third Round: Debugging Round

The 25 students (5 teams) who cleared the second round, went on to the third round. In this round, each team was given a pre-written error code which had to be debugged within a specified time. After completion of the third round, winners and runners-up of the Eikon Club event ‘Achiever; was announced by Prof. R. Kumar, HOD, Dept. of ISE.
