Sixth International Conference on Design Innovation For 3C’s Compute, Communicate and Control – ICDI3C 2022

An International Conference on ‘Design Innovation For 3Cs – Compute, Communicate, and Control (ICDI3C) 2022’ was jointly organized by the departments of Electronics and Communication Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering of MVJ College of Engineering, on 24^th and 25^th June, 2022.

The Conference served as a forum to bring together researchers, scientists, academicians, practicing engineers and industry professionals, to discuss innovative ideas and deliberate on diverse topics related to next generation technologies. This Conference has become a hub for researchers to showcase their new research findings. It also helps in identifying the cutting-edge technological advancements that are constantly revolutionizing the world. The Conference seeks solutions for research/industrial challenges/problems and creates an avenue for the participants to network with hundreds of professionals in the fields of Electrical, Electronics, Communication and Computer Science.

Objectives of the Conference:

Around 60 papers were received from various universities / colleges like IIT, NIT, Central University etc. These papers were reviewed by the scrutinizing committee, and the details of the review were forwarded to the concerned author. After all these processes, 58 papers were selected for presentation.

Conference Format

The International Conference comprised parallel paper presentations by the two branches, Electronics and Communication, and Electrical and Electronics. Each speaker was given 10 minutes to present his paper, followed by 3-5 minutes for addressing questions. The Conference was structured to foster discussions among the participants around the core themes.

Welcome address by Principal, Dr P. Mahabaleswarappa

The Conference was set in motion at 09.00 am. Dr P. Mahabaleswarappa, Principal, MVJ College of Engineering, delivered the welcome address. He spoke about the current scenario of Engineering Colleges and students’ education. He registered his views about the scope of the Conference. He affirmed that this international conference will be a platform for researchers, academicians and students to discuss about recent trends, challenges and advancements related to engineering fields, which will create for them, an opportunity to focus on specific areas from their own perspective and experiences in their field.

Prof. Divya, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, MVJCE, introduced the Chief Guest and highlighted the scope of the Conference.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

DAY 1: Keynote Talk – I

Keynote Talk by Dr. Anandi Giridharan

Dr. Anandi Giridharan, Principal Research Scientist, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, spoke about the recent trends, growth, future scope, ongoing projects and research in the field of Engineering. She delivered her Keynote address on the research topics on paradigm shift in technology. The inauguration program concluded at 11.30 am.

Session1 of ICDI3C-2022 was chaired by Dr. S J Sugumar and Dr. Shima Ramesh, Department of ECE, MVJCE. 12 technical papers were presented in areas like Machine learning, Digital Image Processing, Embedded Systems, Networking and Biometrics.

Session 2 of ICDI3C-2022 was chaired by Dr. S Kanithan and Dr. S Krishnasamy, Department of ECE, MVJCE. 12 technical papers were presented in this session, on areas that included Machine learning, Electrical Vehicles, Signal Processing, VLSI, Networking and Biometrics.

DAY 2: Keynote talk

Dr. Rathna GN, Principal Research Scientist, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, spoke about the recent trends, growth and future scope of Visual Speech Recognition in the field of Engineering. The inauguration programme came to a close at 11.30 am.

Technical Session 9 and 10

Session 1 of ICDI3C-2022 was moderated by Prof. Bini Babu, Department of EEE, MVJCE. 14 technical papers were presented through virtual mode in areas such as Machine learning, IOT, MEMS, Robotics and Electrical Drives.

In the valedictory function at 3.30 pm, Dr. P Mahabaleswarappa presented the summary of the Conference. Delegates from various institutions registered their valuable feedback. Dr. Krishnasamy, Assoc. Professor, Dept. of ECE, delivered the vote of thanks. On behalf of the Management, he expressed his sincere thanks to the Chief Guest, Principal, Vice Principal, Conference Chair, teaching and non-teaching staff, event management committee, students and delegates from various engineering colleges for their excellent cooperation in making this Conference a grand success. Finally, the programme ended with the National Anthem
