Redefining My Aerospace Dream

The Department of Aeronautical Engineering, MVJCE, organized a Webinar on ‘Redefining My Aerospace Dreams’, on 4th March 2021, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Mr. Naresh Solipur, the CEO and Founder of Ziegler Aerospace (and a passionate Aeronautical Engineer) was the Guest Speaker. The main purpose of the webinar was to prepare the students for short-term training in the field of designing aircraft components, like Wing & Fuel tank panels, Engine cover and Cabin system design and cargo floor panels etc. The lecture kindled the interest of students in the field of Aerospace, especially with respect to Designing of Aircraft components for Aerospace applications. 80 participants from the Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering departments, MVJCE, participated in this Webinar.

Drone and Soceital Applications

The Department of Aeronautical Engineering in association with UAV Lab organized a Webinar on “ Drone and Soceital Applications” on 04.12.2020 from 02:30 PM to 04:15 PM.The Guest Speaker was Dr Ramaseshan Satagopan, COO & Board member, General Aeronautics Pvt Ltd, Start-Up, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. The objective of the webinar was to create awareness about the current scenario in the UAV Start-Ups in our country, the opportunities ahead, and the challenges. The webinar broadly covered the concept of Drones and their societal applications. The talk comprehensively covered topics such as business potential, challenges, applications in different walks of life, employment opportunities, Inter disciplinary aspects etc., related to drones.

Early Formation of Universe and Aditya Mission

Department of Aeronautical Engineering, in association with Astronomy club, MVJCE, organized a Webinar on ‘Early Formation of Universe and Aditya Mission’ from 1.30 PM. to 3.10 PM, on 06th November 2020. The Chief Guest was Prof. Dipankar Banerjee, an Astrophysicist working in Indian Institute of Astrophysics. 100 participants from the Astronomy Club, MVJCE, participated in this Webinar. Prof. Dipankar Banerjee gave an introduction about Aditya L1: India’s first dedicated space mission to study our nearest star, the Sun. He explained about the different types of telescopes in and around the world. He then spoke about the Sun as a dynamic star, and went on to explain the concepts of Photosphere, Lower Chromosphere, Upper Chromosphere, Corona, Corona Mass Ejections (CMEs), Solar Influence etc. The lecture kindled the interest of students in the field of astronomy, especially with respect to Aditya L1, India’s Space Mission to study the Sun.

Systems Engineering Approach for Design and Development of UAVs

A webinar on “Systems Engineering Approach for Design and Development of UAVs” was organized by the Department of Aeronautical Engineering. The event was conducted on 28.10.2020 from 10:30 AM to 01:15 PM. The Resource Person was Prof. Srikumar Pullat, Visiting Professor and Head, International Strategic and Security Studies Program (ISSSP), National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), IISc Campus, Bangalore. The aim of the webinar was to project the importance of the Systems Engineering approach in the design and development of UAVs which are multidisciplinary systems. The major objective of the talk was to bring out the various aspects of Systems Engineering methodology to be adopted for successful realization and deployment of complex engineering systems. The participants understood the relevance and criticality of Systems Engineering Approach and its relevance in the development of a multi-disciplinary system like UAV.

Airframes — Analysis and Design

A seminar on 'Airframes — Analysis and Design' was conducted on 26th April 2018, organized by the Department of Aeronautical Engineering at Smt. Rajalakshmi Jayaraman Seminar Hall MVJCE, Bangalore. The first talk was delivered by Mr. Kanchan Biswas Ex—Group Director of CEMILAC about Design standards and Airworthiness related Structural practices. This was followed by a lecture by DR. C. N. Sathyanarayana, Senior Principal Scientist from National Aerospace Laboratories, Bangalore about Experimental Structural dynamics. Later a lecture on Stress Analysis and Sizing was delivered by Mr. Rajbharath from Airframe Aero-designs Pvt Ltd, Bangalore.

Capturing the invisible universe

The Department of Aeronautical Engineering, in association with Astronomy club organized a Seminar on “Capturing the invisible universe” held on 26th September 2017 place at Smt. Rajalakshmi seminar hall from 3.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. This event aimed at creating awareness on celestial objects, space, and the physical universe as a whole. The Chief Guest for the Seminar was Dr. Rabbi Akkiba Anigras, professor at St. Joseph College, Bangalore, and a renowned Astronomer. There were a total of 300 participants from various departments.
