Three-day Workshop on LoRa WAN Based IOT and Image/ Video Analytics using Deep Learning

LoRa WAN Based IOT and Image/ Video Analytics using Deep Learning was organized by the ECE and IIOT Departments, from 9th to 11th March, 2023. The Workshop received an overwhelming response, with more than 50 participants attending it. The Workshop was a combination of Lecture sessions and Hands-on demonstration sessions, on image and video analytics and LoRaWAN techniques.

Two-Day Workshop on 3D Printing and PCB Designing

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized a Two-Day Workshop on ‘3D Printing and PCB Designing’, under CoE in Robotics and Industrial Automation. In this Workshop, students learnt about 3D printing and additive manufacturing technology and PCB Designing using CADENCE-Allegra. This training was conducted and coordinated by Dr. Soumya Sundar Pattanayak (AP/ECE) and Mr. L. David William Raj (AP/ECE). 40 students from ECE 3rd and 4th years participated in this Workshop.

An International Conference on “Design Innovation For 3C’s Compute, Communicate, and Control (ICDI3C) 2021” is jointly organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering of MVJ College of Engineering on 11th & 12th June 2021. The conference acted as a forum to bring together researchers, scientists, academicians, practicing Engineers, and industry professionals to discuss innovative ideas and diverse topics on next generation technologies.

Workshop: Five-day FDP on ‘CSIR Sponsored Artificial Intelligence & Computer Vision Solution of Edge Devices (IoT)

A Five-day FDP on ‘CSIR Sponsored Artificial Intelligence & Computer Vision Solution of Edge Devices (IoT)’ was organized by the ECE Department from 1st February 2021 to 5th February 2021, through online mode.. This FDP was planned for 5 days, to include technical hands-on sessions as well as lecture Sessions on topics like Earth observation systems and Geospatial Information. The FDP was initiated by Mr. Ramachandra Hebbar, Scientist SG, RRSC, ISRO Bangalore. The program was presided over by Dr. P Mahabaleshwarappa (Principal, MVJCE), Dr. M Brindha (Vice Principal, MVJCE), and Prof. Vaman B Gudi (CoE & Registrar, MVJCE). The session started at 10:30 am with 50 participants including Faculty Members from various departments of MVJCE and other institutes.

Workshop on a two-day Virtual training on 3D Printing and PCB Design

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized a two-day Virtual training on 3D Printing and PCB Design. In this online training, students were trained on 3D CAD modelling using 3D printer, CAD design for electronic circuits, and training on PCB prototype machine. This training was conducted by Mr. Bhanuteja G (AP/ECE), on 12st and 13st November 2020, using Microsoft teams Live-event platform. 170 students from various disciplines registered and participated in this training. The training began with an explanation about the importance of CAD modelling, and the difference between model, prototype, and products.

Workshop on Biped Robot design

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organised a two day virtual training on 3D printing and PCB Design on 12.11.2020 and 13.11.2020 using microsoft teams live event platform.Mr. Bhanuteja, Assistant Professor, ECE conducted the training and nearly 170 students from various disciplines participated in this training workshop.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organised a two-day hands on training on Robotics and Industrial Automation and were trained on Designing a Biped Robot. The training program was conducted in collaboration with AMZ Automotive India on 28.02.20 and 29.02.20. A total of 72 students from different branches participated in the training. Mr Pratik and Mr. Amit were the trainers from AMZ India.

Pre-conference Workshop on the 4th International Conference on ‘Design Innovations for 3C’s: “Compute – Communicate – Control”

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organised a one day pre conference workshop on 4th International Conference on ‘Design Innovations for 3C’s: “Compute – Communicate – Control” 27th February 2020, at Dr. M V Jayaraman Auditorium, MVJCE campus. Dr Rathna G N ,Principle Research Scientists, IISc, Bengaluru and Prof. Anandi Giridharan, Principle Research Scientists, IISc, Bengaluru inaugurated function of the ICDI3C-20. Dr. Rathna G N delivered the Keynote address on the topic ‘Embedded Systems and its applications. Prof. Anandi Giridharan, delivered the Keynote address on the topic ‘Artificial Intelligence and its Applications.

Workshop on Robotics basics for Robo Kabaddi

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in association with Robotics and Industrial Automation Lab organised training on Robotics basics for Robo Kabaddi. The training was conducted by Mr. Paulson, Ms Srinidhi and team. A total of 118 students from various departments participated in the training. The training was conducted on 17th,18th and 19th February 2020 from 3:20 pm to 6:00 pm.

  • The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering conducted a two-day Workshop on IOT using Node–MCU, on 14.11.19 and 16.11.19 for first slot students, and on 21.11.19 and 22.11.19 for second slot students. This Workshop was conducted at NI LabView Lab. Dr. D Tamilarasi, Associate Professor, ECE and Prof. P Pavithra, Assistant Professor, ECE were the event coordinators.

  • The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organised a three day workshop on Machine Learning through Data Science and Python under IEEE, Bangalore Section from 4.11.2019 to 6.11.2019. The workshop was cordinated by Dr. Rajiv Kamal, Prof ECE department

  • The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organised training on Robotics and Industrial Automation Arduino in which the students were trained on the basics of robotics, line follower and bluetooth controlled robot. The training was conducted by Mr. Bhanuteja G, Assitant Professor, Department of ECE. A total of 35 students from 1st and 2nd year participated in the training on 20.09.2019 and 21.09.2019 at COE, Robolab.

  • The Department of Electronicsand Communication Engineering organized a two week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “GRAPHICAL PROGRAMMING & REAL TIME SYSTEM DESIGN “in association with National Instruments LabView from 8th July 2019 to 19th July 2019. The experts for FDp were Mr Visweswaran Jagadeesan, Territory Manager at NI, Mr Umesh from HMT, Ms Soumya from Fracktal works and Mr Prasanth from Vyapthi Technical Solutions and Ms. Aparna P (AP, ECE) MVJCE, Bangalore.The FDP was conducted at NI Lab and Robo Lab. More than 40 participants from various AICTE approved institutions attended the FDP.

  • The Department of Electronicsand Communication Engineering in collaboration with Rove Labs Pvt.Ltd, Bangalore organized three day workshop training on Advanced Training on Robotics and Industrial Automation under COE Robotics and Industrial Automation from 25th Feb 2019 to 27th Feb 2019. The students were trained on Designing of Voice Controlled Robot and Guesture Based Robot. A total of 54 students from different branch participated in this training.

  • The Department of Electronicsand Communication Engineering organizedorganized four day workshop and training on “Introductory training on Robotics using ATMEGA” on 01-03-2018 and 02-03-2018. The training was handled by Mr. Shakti Singh Chauhan, trainer, Robolab Technologies, Pune. The event was coordinated by Mr. Bhanuteja G and Ms. Varsha P, Assistant professor, ECE dept. A total of 34 first year students attended this training at Robotics Lab, MVJCE.
