DEPARTMENT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE & MACHINE LEARNING
The Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI & ML) course encompasses a variety of topics relating to Programming languages, Analysis of algorithms, Data structures, Computer Vision, Machine learning, Artificial Intelligence and Deep learning. Besides making students adept at the fundamentals, the course Curriculum also aims to expose them to the latest technologies in this rapidly evolving domain.
The Curriculum for the AI and ML course at MVJCE has been framed, based on NEP guidelines, with a strong focus on Multidisciplinary education. All the recommendations of NEP have been carefully considered while framing the syllabus, with inputs from experts from Industry and Academia. As per NEP recommendations, students are given the flexibility to select courses, through a Choice Based Credit system.
Ability Enhancement Courses are offered from the First year onwards. In the First year, students must select one vertical from among the 11 verticals/clubs available at the college. This aims at improving the innovative thinking and creativity of students. From the 3rd semester onwards, courses like Unix shell Programming, C sharp and.NET framework, Research Methodology and IPR, Angular JS and Node JS are offered as Ability Enhancement
A Major in AI & ML gives a provision to acquire a Minor degree in DS, IoT, etc., by earning extra 18 credits. An Honours Degree can also be obtained by earning extra 18 credits. This is in line with NEP 2020.
The AI & ML department offers IPCC courses like Data Structures, Analog and Digital Electronics, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Microcontroller and Embedded Systems, Database Management Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Web Technologies, Machine Learning and Foundation of Data Science. The syllabus also has elective subjects like Artificial Neural Networks, Digital Image Processing, Computer Vision, Big Data Analytics, Pattern Recognition, Deep Learning Techniques, Natural Language Processing etc. promoting a Multidisciplinary education.
Courses like OOPs with Java Programming, Python Programming, SQL, Web technologies, Mobile application development are also taught, as these will help students with their projects. Apart from the courses mentioned, Internships and plenty of Project work on societal problems are also incorporated in the Curriculum. Students are encouraged to do the Certification Courses offered by organizations like NPTEL, Swayam, Coursera, Infosys Springboard and NASSCOM.
Thus, the carefully crafted AI and ML Curriculum transforms our students into well-rounded, thoughtful, creative engineers, developing their intellectual curiosity as well as social consciousness, and shaping them into the responsible citizens of future India, as envisaged by NEP 2020.
