Add On Lecture - LabVIEW and Its Applications in Core Industry

Add on Lecture on “LabVIEW and Its Applications in Core Industry” was organized by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering on 22nd January 2024 for the 3rd and 5th Semester students in two different sessions from 10.00 to 11.15AM as one session and 11.15AM to 12.30PM as second session and the resource person for the program was:

Total of 159 students of 5th Semester and 179 students of 3rd Semester from ECE has attended each sessions. The welcome address and introduction of the chief guest was given by Dr. Sajithra Varun / HoD / ECE. The Venue for the Add on Lecture was Rajalakshmi Seminar Hall.

Both the session he started with motivating the students on the needs and importance of the skill development before entering into the placements. He was briefing how the industrial requirements and standards has increased their needs before recruiting the students to their companies. As a basic needs now the companies are hiring candidates only with basic certifications and also strong with the basic knowledge in their domain and the project that the candidates have done.

After the motivation the resource person started presenting the advancements and developments in LabVIEW. With NI in collaboration with Emerson underscores the critical role of LabVIEW in test and measurement. He has briefed the details and the importance of the certification like CLAD (Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer), CLD (Certified LabVIEW Developer), CLA (Certified LabVIEW Architect). They have changed the level of recruitment for the students from the basic programming in LabVIEW to entry level certifications. The resource person also gave the importance of the developments in the core industry and the change of era from IT Sector to CORE Field requirement. He also listed the companies that are utilizing LabVIEW for their domain and also the pay package for the students completing different level of certifications.
