Requirements for joining B.E Program in Civil Engineering

If you are passionately creative, intensely imaginative and don’t mind stepping on to the ground and getting your hands and feet dirty, then, this is the course for you. Besides this, all Indian students applying for the B.E Civil Engineering program must fulfil the following requirements:

a). CET Quota Students:

  • Must have passed the Second Year of Pre-university or 12th standard or equivalent, with English as one of the subjects.
  • Must have secured an aggregate of at least 45% in Math and Physics, and Chemistry/Biology/Electronics/Computer Science/Biotechnology.
  • Must have cleared KCET.

b). Management Quota Direct Admission students:

  • Must have passed the Second Year of Pre-university or 12th standard or equivalent, with English as one of the subjects and obtained an aggregate of at least 60% in Math and Physics, and Chemistry/ /Biology/Electronics/Computer Science/Biotechnology.
  • Must have cleared any of the following entrance examinations: KCET, COMEDK, UGET, AMPCK, AIEEE.

c). Students in the SC/ST and CAT1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B categories:

  • Can apply with a minimum aggregate of 40% in the qualifying examination.

d). International/NRI students

  • Must have passed anexam equivalent to Second Year of Pre-university or 12th standard, with English as one of the subjects and obtained an aggregate of at least 60% in Math and Physics, and Chemistry/ /Biology/Electronics/Computer Science/Biotechnology.
  • Must clear the interview and written test that will be conducted by the College, as mandated by the University.

Note: A student who has passed the qualifying exam (PUC, 12th standard) from a recognized Board other than those mentioned by VTU, must obtain an Equivalence Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (New Delhi). This certificate is mandatory for admission in the College.
