The three-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on Fostering Effective Communication, Leadership, and Innovation in Technical Education was conducted from 23-11-2023 to 25-11-2023. The FDP was organized by Department of Chemical Engineering in collaboration with Department of Mechanical Engineering and Department of Civil Engineering. The program aimed to equip faculty members with essential skills and insights to enhance their teaching methodologies, communication strategies, and leadership capabilities in the ever-evolving landscape of technical education.

Day 1: Competency and Skills Mapping for an Effective Career

The first day of the FDP focused on Competency and Skills Mapping for an Effective Career. Mr. GP Mruthyunjaya has presented in-depth on the importance of enhancing competency, covering the importance of aligning academic curricula with industry needs. Interactive sessions allowed participants to identify and map competencies critical for career success.

Day 2: Market Dynamics, Challenges, and Attributes of Great Teachers

The second day was addressed by Mr. P.S.Sathish on Market Dynamics and the Need for Change in technical education. Discussions revolved around the challenges faced by teachers in adapting to market dynamics and strategies to address these challenges. The afternoon session was on the attributes that make a great teacher, focusing on fostering a holistic educational environment.

Day 3: Project Management and Industry 5.0

Day 3 delved into Project Management, providing faculty members with practical tools and methodologies to efficiently manage academic projects. The afternoon sessions were dedicated to exploring the concept of Industry 5.0, emphasizing the integration of technology and human-centric approaches in technical education. Dr Sundaresha SD resource person on day-3 engaged the participants with case studies and discussions to understand the practical implications of Industry 5.0 on education.

Participant Feedback:

Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. Attendees praised the relevance of the topics covered and the practical insights provided by the resource persons. The interactive nature of the sessions facilitated meaningful discussions and knowledge sharing among participants.

The Faculty Development Program on Fostering Effective Communication, Leadership, and Innovation in Technical Education was a resounding success.
