IETE Professional Body
In association with the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE), Bengaluru Centre, IETE Student Chapter was established in October 2017. The Top 23 students from 2nd year and 25 students from 3rd year have been enrolled as members of this Student Chapter. Membership cards were issued to these 48 students.
Objective of IETE Student Chapter
- To plan and organize Technical Programs, Special Lectures, Workshops, Seminars, Symposia and Exhibitions, for the benefit of students.
- To provide a common platform for students to exchange their ideas in technical topics of interest, e.g. curriculum, employment, higher educational opportunities, emerging trends etc.
- To facilitate industrial visits, project work, employment, contact with industries and other academic institutions.
Activities executed, in association with IETE Student Chapter
- Department Advisory Committee meeting:
The Department Advisory Committee meeting was held on 23.02.2019, at Seminar Hall 4, from 9.45 am to 11.45 am. HOD/EEE welcomed the Committee members and made a presentation on the progress made by the Department and on the explicit observations made by the NBA Committee members.
- SCRENNIN: A program on ‘Energy from Scrap’ was organised by the EEE Department, in association with IETE Student Chapter, on 2nd March 2019, during the National level technical event Vertechx 9.0. 9 teams consisting of 20 members participated in the event.
- WIFICIRCUITCITY: The Department of EEE organised the technical event WiFicircuitcity, in the academic year 2017-18, in association with IETE Student Chapter, during the National level tech fest, VertechX 8.0. Students from various departments participated in the event.
- PEO1: Professional career: Graduates will have a flourishing career in electrical and electronics engineering or associated industries.
- PEO2:Perspective towards lifelong learning: Graduates will have ability to adapt with emerging trends and carries research.
- PEO3: Environment sustainability: Graduates will acquire managerial skill to solve technical issues at the least economic and ecological cost.
- PSO1:Clean energy for rural development: Generate electric energy using sustainable sources and design a smart distributed generation system for rural upliftment.
- PSO2: Exposure to emerging problems: Identify and analyze the harmonics created in electrical systems in synergy with power electronics and controllers.
Prof. P.Premalatha
Prof. Premalatha holds a Master’s degree with specialization in Power Electronics and Renewable Energy sources. With her teaching experience of 8 years she has guided a number of Student Projects in the areas of Power Electronics.
Achievements
She has carried out the simulation of Half Impulse Radiating Antenna using Computer Simulation Technology and presented papers in several International Conferences.

Control Systems Lab
Study and analysis of various control system components and control system modules are done in this lab.
Electronics Lab
Deals with both Analog and digital Electronics circuits.
Conduct experiments on rectifier circuits and implementation of analog circuits
Conduct experiments on digital logic and implementation of digital circuits
Electrical Machines Lab
Various tests and performance evaluation of DC machines, induction machines, transformers and synchronous machines are done in this lab.
Microcontroller Lab
Programming and applications of microcontrollers for various applications. Both hardware and simulation programs are available in the lab.
Power Electronics Lab
Experiments related to power electronics circuits like rectifiers, inverters, choppers, drives and control of various machines using the power electronics modules are done here.
Power System Simulation Lab
Computer simulation of various power system problems and its solutions are observed here.
Relay & High Voltage Lab
Experiments related to high voltage engineering are done in this laboratory. Testing of various relays for its performance and application.

Electrical Machines Lab is supported by IFB Industries. Motor Division, IFB industries sponsored One Universal motor and its main assemblies for the academic purpose.
