MVJCE celebrated the innovation day on 29th of April 2016, to encourage the creative ideas of the emerging engineers. The prime focus of the day was to elicit, exhibit, evaluate the student talents and rewarding them. To make the celebration out in front, the college organized a National Level Project Expo and Competition also on the same day.
The National Level Project Expo and Competition, with the leadership from eminent professional bodies CSI and IETE, attracted the best student projects from eminent technical colleges across India. Projects from all engineering disciplines were suitable for the Expo. Visitors to this exceptional event gained a worthwhile learning experience.
The inauguration of Innovation Day and the National level project expo was held on 29th April, 2016 at the Rajalakshmi Seminar Hall, MVJCE at 10 A.M.The event was inaugurated by Dr Sieglinde Pfaendler, Innovation Manager, Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd. She addressed the gathering and spoke about the importance of innovation and inventions. Prof Thygarajan, Director – R&D, MVJCE presided the function.
The event was graced by the Chairman, Vice principal, HODs and other esteemed professors from various departments of MVJCE. Registrations were received from many parts of the country, from which top 50 projects were selected and were categorized into three broad areas: Computer Sciences, Electrical Sciences and Mechanical Sciences.
The Projects were evaluated by judges from eminent corporate. The valedictory function was conducted after the project expo, at 3.00 PM. Three best projects from each of the categories were selected as the winners and were awarded with Rs.25000 cash prize each. Nine good projects were awarded with commendation prizes of rupees Rs.5000 each. The awards were distributed by the chief guests and the judges of the event.
The winners from IT related projects category were: Siwalik Mukherjee, Yash Parikh and Anubhav Arukia from CSE department for the project: “Data Transfer between Computers using Gesture Recognition”. The winners from Mechanical/ Chemical/ Civil engineering projects category were Santosh B Kallur, Rahul, Shiva Kumar and Sunil Anthony for the project “Embedded based hand talk assisting system for Dumb on android platform”. The winners from Hardware projects category were: Shivaprasad sajjanar, Abhishek K.K. Manoj kumar and Sharath Babu for the project “High performance concrete for PSC sleepers.” The National Level Project Expo imparted a huge exposure to the participants.
