| Labs |
| Microbiology |
The students study about the biology of the microbes and how to cultivate the microbes in fermenter vessels and How to harness the potential of producing valuable products from the microbes which serves as a living factory. the microbes are used for commercial production of biomolecules.
| Biochemistry |
In this lab the students are trained in various aspects of Biochemistry, Enzymology, how to purify
proteins and enzymes, kinetics of enzyme reactions immobilization of enzymes and techniques in immunology.
| Enzyme Technology |
In this lab the students are trained in various aspects of Biochemistry, Enzymology, how to purify
proteins and enzymes, kinetics of enzyme reactions immobilization of enzymes and techniques in immunology.
| Cells Molecular Biology |
The students study about the cell structure and function, how the cell divides, isolation of
sub-cellular organelles, how to isolate genomic and Plasmid DNA. They will also learn how to amplify DNA by Polymerase Chain Reaction and analyze the nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) by Gel electrophoresis and cloning of genes of interest.
| Bio Informatics |
In this laboratory the students will learn various interactive and
non-interactive tools realted to computational biology and bioinformatics. The students
will be trained how to retrive data pertaining to protein and nucleic acid three
dimensional strutures from various data bases. They will be imparted training in
various software pakages, perl language and programs such as C/C++, genomics, proteomics,
drug discovery, molecular evolution, population and theoretical biology.
