The College has built a new spacious Central Library spanning a total floor area of 17,000 sq ft. Combining aesthetics with utility, the modern Library houses about 36,000 books and subscriptions to over 112 - national (78) and international (34) journals. The Library also subscribes to more than 200 E-Journals through the INDEST-AICTE Consortium – IEL. The Library comes with provision for modern facilities including Library Automation, Conference Hall, Media Center, Stock Section, Reference Section, Issue Section with advanced computers and other peripherals.
The Reference section is complete open access. This section is available for reference purpose between 8 am to 10 pm on all working days and 9.00 am to 4.00 pm on Sundays and 9 am to 1 pm on Holidays. Xerox facilities are available to enable readers to take photocopies.
The Circulation section in the ground floor works between 8 am to 4 pm. from Monday to Saturday. Sundays and Holidays no circulation of books.
The Library reading space can accommodate nearly 300 students. Separate reading space is available for staff and students.
Library is fully automated. It is using Integrated “Libsoft “software for all its house keeping activities.
Library is fitted with antitheft system and Internet security cameras to safeguard the Library resources.

MVJCE Library is open on all days of the year except on the National holidays (Independence Day, Republic Day and Gandhi Jayanthi). Hence our MVJCE library users can use the library for their academic and research progress. |

| For the effective use of the library facilities and e-resources, a detailed tutorial to access e-resources; which explains step-by-step procedure to access e- Journals has been prepared and circulated to all the faculty members and students. |

| A portal called “Gateway to E-Resources” is created which gives links to several Open Access Journals Data bases and Online Video lectures of IIT and IISc faculties covering Subjects like Business & Management, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, General Works, Information Technology, Library Science, Life Sciences, Material Science, Mathematics, Media and Communication, Physics & Social Sciences. This service covers free, full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals. These sources are very useful to all our college community for their academic and research activities |

| Introduced a new service called “Article alert service”. It is a service to keep up-to-date with journals/articles in the areas of research interest of faculty members who are engaged in research activities... It provides regular electronic notifications through e-mail to individual inbox of newly published research articles, journal’s tables of contents and other types of information based on user-specified subject area |

Books Lending |
|
|
Book(s) will be issued for 15 days with renewal of 15 days. The library cards are not transferable. Student members get 3 borrowers cards and staff members get 2 borrowers cards. |

Fine: |
|
|
If the book is not returned on the due date , one rupee per day per book will be collected as fine. |
|
|
|
|
Loss of book(s): |
|
|
Loss of Book(s) if any shall be reported to the librarian immediately and a new copy shall be replaced immediately. In case the borrower is unable to replace the lost book(s), twice value of the lost book(s) plus over due charges, if any, will be levied. |
